Cyberbullying

Online dating should feel exciting — not hostile. Harassment, threats, or repeated insults are not normal, and they are not something you have to tolerate.

What cyberbullying can look like

  • Repeated insults or humiliation.
  • Body shaming or appearance-based attacks.
  • Racist, sexist, or discriminatory comments.
  • Threats of violence or intimidation.
  • Doxxing (threatening to share private information).
  • Sharing private messages or images without consent.

Early warning signs

  • They "joke" in ways that feel degrading.
  • They test your boundaries to see what you’ll tolerate.
  • They become aggressive when challenged.
  • They try to make you feel small or insecure.

What to do if it happens

  1. Do not engage or escalate the situation.
  2. Screenshot messages or evidence.
  3. Block the user immediately.
  4. Report the account through the app.
  5. If threats involve harm, contact local authorities.

Protect your peace

You do not owe anyone access to you. Blocking is not weakness — it is self-respect. Your emotional safety matters just as much as your physical safety.
